If I ever get married...

Spring is here. Everything is better - brighter, fresher, more alive. I don't know why. I don't question why. It's a good thing.

It seems that lots of people my age are getting married. What???????? Married???????? We're young. I want to get married - just not right now. I enjoy being a girlfriend. I enjoy my boyfriend. Why change a good thing? Someday I want to be a wife though.

My big concern is that I drool a river on my pillow. My poor husband will have to go to bed wearing a bathing suit every night! I can also be anal. I like things clean and just so. I can emotional and snappy. I can have impossibly high standards for myself. I worry a lot. I sweat ridiculous amounts. I dwell. I am impulsive. I second guess. I grind my teeth. When I do get married, I'll inform my future husband of these traits well before the big day. I'll remind him that I'm not perfect, even though that is obvious.

I like ordinary things that have a little edge - maybe because that's how I think of myself.

Some like it clappy...

When the Observer sees someone performing well on TV or anything good happens, he claps. He claps loudly. He claps even if it just the two of us watching TV. He claps freely.
At first I found this oddly irritating. No one on TV can see him clapping, so what's the point? He's only clapping to himself......or his family......or me (and we all probably wish he would stop.)
After thinking about spontaneous, solo clapping, I now say, why not? If we are happy, why not show it? Why not laugh? Smile? Jump? Squeal? Cry? Or clap?
Life's short. I may not be into clapping, but I'm glad the Observer is happy and he knows it and he really wants to show it.

Ordinary Miracle...

It’s not that usual when everything is beautiful
It’s just another ordinary miracle today

The sky knows when it's time to snow
You don’t need to teach a seed to grow
It’s just another ordinary miracle today

Life is like a gift they say
Wrapped up for you everyday
Open up and find a way
To give some of your own

Isn’t it remarkable?
Like every time a raindrop falls
It’s just another ordinary miracle today

Birds in winter have their fling
And always make it home by spring
It’s just another ordinary miracle today

When you wake up everyday
Please don’t throw your dreams away
Hold them close to your heart
Cause we are all a part
Of the ordinary miracle

Ordinary miracle
Do you want to see a miracle?

Its seems so exceptional
Things just work out after all
It’s just another ordinary miracle today

The sun comes up and shines so bright
It disappears again at night
It’s just another ordinary miracle today

It’s just another ordinary miracle today
